So some clubs are opening for social distance socialising ?

Why would anyone bother going ..?

Might as well meet in proper pubs/bars where it’s free to enter and drinks are cheaper..

Infact most clubs don’t even have a licensed bar, let’s be honest we all go to clubs for the sexually charged atmosphere and some play time ..

Just being Devils advocate .. see what people’s feelings are ?

Like you I’m just playing devil’s advocate here as I’m not likely to be going along any time soon.

I’m guessing that some of the appeal would be the choice of clothes for one or in some cases none at all, things for which you would probably get thrown out of your local for.

Also it’s not going to stop you playing with your own partners in front of others which for some is all they go to clubs for anyway

I think loyalty comes into it too. Clubs like Xtasia and VA have worked so hard to create a safe, fun, welcoming environment. Us giving something back, even when facilities (and potential for play) aren’t able to get back to normal just yet, could be the difference between a good club staying open or going under.

Don’t need a changing room to take off a long coat and reveal what’s underneath

I know it’s hard for some to understand but there is just a certain vibe at some clubs that you wouldn’t be able to replicate at a local pub and some will be willing to go along and support a local business and hopefully give it a lifeline to keep running until you can play again.

There are other things to do in clubs than physical contact

However, as it appears transmission is vearing more towards airborne (it always has, just taken so long to admit it), I'd be more concerned about being in a confined space regardless of the 2m and other ruling with others.

I absolutely love the club scene, I've made great friends and it is where I choose to spend the majority of my social life.

I would like to use what little money I have at my disposal to support the venues I have enjoyed attending at better times, plus the chance to be around like minded people and friends I haven't seen for a while even if it is just for a drink and a laugh is the reason why I will attend clubs if I can, even while we need to socially distance.

I think for most people that are still going to go to a club and pay an entry fee just to socialise when they can do it for free at a pub will be to support that club

There are lots of people that frequent a regular club of their preference and really want that club to be able to ride out this financially crippling time.

Going along with these restrictions in place will be hopefully enabling them to keep their heads above water and still be around once Covid restrictions can be eased

We're going to VA on Wednesday to catch up with friends and get some time away from home/life/the kids (and we need it!).

We don't really like pubs as they (generally) are full of d*unk people and are not the kind of place we visit anyway. Also our local is full of knob heads and we don't know anyone there.

With all that in mind where else can we go to socialise in a relaxed environment with like minded people?

Think lots of people seem to be questioning going to swingers clubs at moment as obviously no play allowed. For myself it’s not all down to the sex, I’ve had some great nights in clubs chatting with fellow swingers. Like lots of businesses have been affected Swingers clubs are no different. Obviously quite a few clubs can’t open yet as with social distancing government rules it’s impossible for them to do. I’m lucky as I live in Leeds and have two great clubs in Pandora and Quest which I’ve been going to for a few years now. Will definitely be attending again and supporting them. Lots of people say about going to pubs instead as cheaper than a club but I question that, ok you don’t pay to get in a pub granted but top up price of the drinks in the pubs and bet be very dear. Another problem is the other people in pubs maybe not appreciating the type of topics we swingers chat about. I remember a few years ago going to a pub for Sunday lunch with a group of swinging friends. Well a couple looked over in shock when my friend was discussing tying his girlfriend up and flogging her

. Hopefully government will change the laws soon and all clubs be open again to how we all remember them

We like to dress up in a particular way, and really can't imagine our local pub being too impressed with the mrs walking in with more twangy bits than a broken parachute. Likewise with the Mr dressed sharp and being in the company of people that have stepped through the door straight from work.

Clubs are instant ice breakers, you know that the majority of clientele have something in common and its much easier to make new friends.

When was the last time you saw police and paramedics hanging around outside a club waiting for the inevitable nonsense that a pub brings ?

Safer, friendlier, more honest, and we get to fuck once in a while too without the morning walk of shame.

Socials have been happening at the Gatehouse and everyone has said it is so much better to be able to open and freely rather than being in a pub with limited conversation.

So many people have missed the social side of clubs.

We have always felt 100% safe and welcomed in every club we have been to.

We definitely cant say the same for pubs!

Its also much easier to make new friends, talk to people etc.

As we got bit older we stopped bothering with pubs tbh we still love quality restaurants but swinging clubs are where we have the best night out and sex / play isnt needed to still have a great time.

My experience of the club scene has been quite the opposite, and whilst I will agree a single guy CAN have a great time in one, I will always favour private meets as after 9 years of being in Fab, I can count on one hand the number of times I have been let down. Great to see those who love the club scene supporting their favourites in these tough times though

Like the majority (glad to see it) supporting the clubs is an important message to send to them.

The pink pound wasn’t something venues considered a few decades ago, but gay venues soon realised these people who couldn’t or even legislated against having children, would however, have disposable income. That’s why the gay village in Manchester or certain areas in large cities thrived.

We need to do the same wherever possible for our clubs, gay venues supported by the gay community so they had some place that felt safe and welcome, we have similar now, let’s make sure we keep them open

We have spent most of our social time over the last few years in Clubs, as someone said earlier pubs have far to much negatively charged energy. We are not attending any at the moment till we feel its safe enough to do so.

We were very disappointed when clubs were moving to open back up again with lots saying they were going to allow play between cohabiting couples or bubbles. Someone said above Derby Council said NO PLAY in clubs allowed. We felt the few clubs were letting the whole scene down by posting they'd allow it and as we all know some of us were very vocal about it in these forums, us included. It is really refreshing to see the clubs that have opened and really have stuck to the rules, confirmed by peoples posts in the forum, are doing ok. We have seen there are a few opening and let the play commence putting all at risk. Clubs open on a knife edge with local council permission to start with so lets hope the few flouting the law or should way say, swerving the recommendations, don't put clubs at risk in the long run. We are still wary of large gatherings as no one knows enough about how this virus and how it is going to pan out so we won't be visiting anywhere where there's large crowds. We don't even go into a supermarket if it's busy. Keeping safe for a while longer

We went to clubf last night for a social night and it was great! Our first night out since lockdown (think we both deserve cos we’ve both worked throughout lockdown) everyone was socially distanced and so chilled out we had a great laugh, we know it won’t be for everyone but we tried it and liked it, supporting our favourite club in hard times as we enjoy going and couldn’t imagine it not being open

What legislation are we going to obide to or compare to. Night Clubs. Dance clubs.massuers Because almost definitely swinging clubs won't be give a metion. Its ok now to have some other person other than your Own. I don't think it will happen.

I’m going to quest on Sunday when it reopens

I’m going because I REALLY want to support Jo and Dave and will happily pay the same entrance fee as I did pre-corona.

I’m also desperate to see my friends and there’s lots of them, like leedshornybugger said above I could happily go for a carvery with some of them like we did before but it’s just not the same.... I want to be back in our environment loving life, enjoying laughs with friends and supporting the lovely hosts.

You are right, alot of clubs don't have a licence to sell alcohol. The main reason is a lot of people tend to drink too much and nervous people will just drink, (As I'm sure you and alot of people know). Also clubs have a duty of care.

As to why bother with a social meeting, after being in lockdown for four months it is nice to get out and meet with others at a safe distance and make new friends for later.

This is exactly why the Gatehouse has changed their outlook, we are open as a social club for alternative people to talk without any boundaries. In pubs you have no idea who you will be sat next to.

A child free zone is essential if home schooling has become too much. Not all pubs are kiddie free.

Being able to people watch/perve/sunbathe naked is why I went to VA's garden last week. We were the only people there.

I need to be naked in the sun and being naughty too (with my partner) is a bonus. Yes we are swingers and naturists too.

Support your local/favourite clubs if you can: it's the only way to stop them going under.

As to why bother with a social meeting, after being in lockdown for four months it is nice to get out and meet with others at a safe distance and make new friends for later.

I’m with you on that one, I can’t wait to be able to go to a club just to catch up with friends in a safe environment

We have our club friends over at ours now, but miss the club atmosphere.

Also there's no washing up to be done after a club night

Wish I could do that but my son lives with me, hence why I go to clubs

We attended Xtasia last night and we went to have a look around without any expectations. It was nice it being just a social a great way to just sit and chat to like minded people who were happy to just be out yes we all want some kind of normal and this is the nee normal for now,but can we say we were very impressed with the place from taking your temperature as you arrive to antibacterial hand wash dotted about, the queuing for the bar and tables all spaced to make you feel as safe as you could in these times. There was a girl cleaning door push panels and tables so we couldnt ask for anything more.

We had a room booked so we was happy enough to go back to our room for our own playtime. Well done Xtasia for setting a great standard x

I’m gagging to go to a club again soon but won’t be the same not being able to play, but if we don’t surport them now we might not have a club to play in after things calm down

I’m guessing that some of the appeal would be the choice of clothes for one or in some cases none at all, things for which you would probably get thrown out of your local for.

Also it’s not going to stop you playing with your own partners in front of others which for some is all they go to clubs for anyway "

Decadance has been open a few weeks now and we have slowly started to get busier. We are using social distancing but that is not stopping people having a good night. On Saturday we were all discussing the fact that in a normal bar you can't talk about the subjects you can in a club. Also as some have said on here there is a good few that even though they can't play with others can still be exhibitionists and show off . You can't do that in a normal bar. We also have a live feed video room in which someone can enjoy themselves to the entertainment of all those in the bar area. There are things you can do. Also we strongly believe that a huge amount of swinging is social. If you don't talk to people and see if you click then nothing will ever happen.

I guess in the clubs you’re going to be with likeminded people instead of loads of beer boys. Either way, neither appeal to us considering the current situation.

Any chance you could update your website like other clubs have so people know what's going on cos it seems it's not been updated since before lockdown? I do appreciate it's so hard not being able to post on here but everyone and especially newbies would need to know how it works, who's allowed, what's the protocol etc but mostly new opening days and times! Thanks xx
