CUPIDS NOT REOPENING

Just heard the news that Cupid’s in Manchester have announced they they will not be reopening after COVID.

Sadly it’s not a surprise and fear it may be the first of many.

saw that cpl of days ago and think your right.i also see some are gona try to open up as bars.depending on the council for watever area they may be in some may be allowed to do that others may not

Actually.... if you read carefully, it’s just the former manager saying he’s not carrying on.

I suspect the club will re- emerge with new ownership...

Then try and reopen next year it’s a way of instantly stopping all your overheads

Most businesses don't own their buildings but still say that they own the business.

As always some people feed off the drama. Whatever the future mayhold for all the clubs in the North West these are uncertain times, but let's not forget these are people's livelihoods we are talking about. Compassion and kindness is needed now. If you can't say anything nice yadda yadda...

Rumours of closure are just that rumours i have been autherised by the owners the Saunders family to inform you all cupids will reopen in the near future and updates will be posted in regard to this as and when it is deemed safe to do so

My money is on this comparatively young guy having a pretty good idea at what the club is all about, it previously being run by his grand parents. I also suspect they will be around for long enough to help him with any aspects of running the club, including negotiation of the lease with the landlord who must be delighted to have a tenant who will be continuing to run a very successful business with the backing of previous trusted lease holders.

For goodness sake, give the poor young man a chance to prove his worth before shooting him down!

It is the grandson who now owns cupids outright after the sad passing of clubland legend the origional mr cupids and owner dave and im sure he has great plans for the future of his grandfathers legacy

The following was originally posted some weeks ago.

Jona & I have considered the viability of continuing to operate Cupids Club. With so many factors - governmental guidelines, the ongoing high covid19 infection rates, risk to both customers & staff & not least financial viability of the business whilst closed for a indeterminate period of time.

It is our sad conclusion that we must step away from running the club and have chosen not to renew our lease - as we cannot envisage a time when swinging returns to the “normal” that we once knew.

We have made some genuine friendships, had the pleasure of meeting fantastically supportive customers & the enjoyment of working with our staff for the last 4 1/2 years.

We truly hope that other clubs find ways to remain in business & ways to continue operating - giving enjoyment, pleasure & homes to social swingers in the north west.

Without doubt the best place to be in the UK when you want a great choice of superb clubs.

We will retain “Artisan1 as our private fab account to keep in touch with our friends - everyone. Here’s hoping that advances are made in C19 treatments soon.

Both Jonna & I (Bruce) look forward to seeing you on the other side xxx thank you xxxx
