So far we are pleased to announce that SWING FEST is still going ahead 30th AUG 2020 weve worked closely with the local council to ensure our staff and consumers saftey,

so far we have had to restrict the numbers and make sum adjustments, but cos its 80% out doors in a private large open air area its looking promising.

tickets are selling well and a full refund will be given in the off chance it wont go ahead,

Pub are opening 4 july with beer gardens playing a large factor,so things are moving forward.

Hope to see you all there x x x

This again is a genuine question for if I plan on coming. I tried to find the answer myself before posting it on here. I found an article from the local paper from 2018 saying it had no license at present but was hoping to get one. I couldn't find anything more up to date so thought I would check on here.

People are jealous of the fantastic and damn well run club HU9 is. Its the perfect size with a fantastic membership community. I love the place.

Unlike some clubs that really have "clicks" of people and look down on single guys. Everyone made me feel so at ease and part of the fun from day 1.

Please don't listen to negativity and trolling. If you dont believe me.. go along and see for yourself.

Looking forward to the new norm and socials. See you all soon. X

It's great to hear that plans are being put into place to re open HU9. After many many weeks of strict lock down the government are easing restrictions at a fast pace, shops, bars, restaurants, hairdressers and hotels to name but a few will all be open very soon plus no restrictions on travel. Everything apears to be heading in the right direction and we are looking forward to the opening of HU9 and will have no worries what so ever about going back to HU9 when they are allowed to open. Can't waite to see you all again and getting back into the "SWING" of things xx

Maybe its the hassle and cost of applying for a licence, they could be trying to save costs for the guests.

There will be a few reasons but the main one is it doesn't require one to operate.

Most clubs are BYOB.

The business model can obviously operate at a profit with the club being BYOB. This will be a welcomed saving to customers as alcohol can be purchased cheaper, and the Club will not have to deal with council fees and restrictions of operating a licensed premises.

Its byo cos its very hard to get a alcohol licence for swinger clubs. We bud get one but. Must clubs are byo and its cheaper for our members. The swing fest event is a licenced bar x x

I would assume it would have a curfew restriction similar to pubs, there would need to be specific areas for the storage of alcohol, fridges and coolers that would run 24/7.

There is the tax and vat that is imposed on licenced premises.

I'm sure if you Google the UK licencing requirements there will be a barrage of compliances that need to be met to operate as a licensed venue.

But if there is no requirement to comply if the venue is BYOB then I can't see any advantage of licensing the venue.

But the "event" is licensed apparently, do the same restrictions apply? "

Apparently? Would it not be easier to contact the organisers for a definite answer rather than making assumptions.

"Any reason why its BYO and not licensed?

Maybe its the hassle and cost of applying for a licence, they could be trying to save costs for the guests.

There will be a few reasons but the main one is it doesn't require one to operate.

Most clubs are BYOB.

Surely they'd make more cash selling booze...

The business model can obviously operate at a profit with the club being BYOB. This will be a welcomed saving to customers as alcohol can be purchased cheaper, and the Club will not have to deal with council fees and restrictions of operating a licensed premises.

What do you suppose those restrictions are?

I would assume it would have a curfew restriction similar to pubs, there would need to be specific areas for the storage of alcohol, fridges and coolers that would run 24/7.

There is the tax and vat that is imposed on licenced premises.

I'm sure if you Google the UK licencing requirements there will be a barrage of compliances that need to be met to operate as a licensed venue.

But if there is no requirement to comply if the venue is BYOB then I can't see any advantage of licensing the venue.

But the "event" is licensed apparently, do the same restrictions apply?

Apparently? Would it not be easier to contact the organisers for a definite answer rather than making assumptions.

"

And it can't licensed if it's BYOB.

So you could make the assumption BYOB. No license required

Ah cool, well they made have been granted a temporary licence for a one off event.

Being a festival it may fall under different regulations.

This is great news as it can help assist the club with applying for a licence at a later date if they so wish.

It appears that you are deliberately trolling the fourm however not very well.

Dry your eyes mate. It was valiant attempt

It appears you have no respect for the law or the NHS, get a grip, and I dont mean on your penis

Lol thank you for your vested input on the subject.

The NHS and my penis have no relevance to the nonsense you are attempting to pedal.

Clearly this is your default rebuttal when you get confused and can't answer regarding the subject title.

The subject being "organizing a party, gathering etc". I'm not confused by that. I am however confused by people with a totally blinkered attitude towards this pandemic. "

The event is proposed to go ahead.

I fail to see why bad mouthing the club and event, when you state further up the forum you have no interest in attending either.

Your concern regarding the NHS is commendable however entirely your own opinion.

As the event organisers have already responded twice on the forum regarding your concerns, i can only assume you are deliberately trolling the post badly.

I myself wish the event organisers, and the other clubs around the country all the best in getting thier business back up and running.

You never know I will hopefully bump into you at Quest

Newcastle and Gateshead

dear mr messy....

I will say to you what i have said to other people both publicly and privately...

i have no "skin" in this arguement.....

the initial question you asked for a fair and and interesting one.... but after you got the answer what started as an interesting question looks like now a personal vendetta!

you are not doing yourself a service at the moment, all the goodwill you may have had has gone..

can i suggest that you take the question to another thread.... slandering the event may put you in trouble... and may put the site in trouble!!!

now, do i think they are overeaching... personally yep!

do i think the rules will be relaxed enough to be able to pull off what they are planning... again personally nope

but those are my views and thats as far as i am going to take it....

I was always taught the worst thing you could do is overpromise and under deliver... so maybe thats a word of advice for the organisers because the longer and later things may need to be cut/cancelled the worst it will look.

Just think some things don't need saying..

We've protected and payed billions in extra for the NHS for standby facilities which will very likely never be used, Inc massive misappropriation of funds for expensive innaproproprite full ventilators when cheap positive airway ventilators were sufficient for most.

The country needs to start to recover both physically and financially

Like yourself people are entitled to thier own opinion.

The posters here are of the opinion the event will go ahead and have paid in advance.

If the event is cancelled due to further restrictions during covid then, I'm sure the organisers will arrange an alternative date or offer a refund.

This does not involve you or your personal opinion.

If you concerned so much about the current covid guidlines and the NHS may I suggest you contact your local council or NHS help website who will be happy to assist you in your concerns.

Where is the like button on this site, folk are just trying to keep their businesses afloat, after the last 3 months and having to find new ways of operating, they need a break, and as long as they re operating within the guidelines, let them be ffs, from a very concerned NHS worker

The ticket numbers will be reflect the current social distancing rules.

These may change again by the date of the event.

But reading back the post you have made it clear you are not attending so I don't see why you are getting so worked up about it?

It is best people don't use two profiles to argue their point.

To the person not interested in the event, please leave the thread alone now that your question has been answered.

Well when people are paying £40+ for an event that hasn't been properly approved for that date, I think they need to know a few details, kept up to date etc...
