Opening up clubs

As it stands clubs may be able to reopen from July according to the timetable; however this is likely to be with social distancing measures. So questions...

FOR CLUB OWNERS

1. Would you reopen?

2. Would you enforce social distancing in your venue?

a) in public areas

b) in private areas (lockable rooms)

FOR CLUB GOERS

1. Would you attend clubs that opened?

2. If going with a partner would you play publicly or privately with your partner?

3. Would you play with anyone not from your household at the club? Including your partner if you do not live with them?

Hopefully answering those questions may help everyone on here think about what easing lockdown means.

We are club goers.

1. Yes but would probably wait a couple of weeks or so after re-opening.

2. On the first few visits we wouldn't play at all. As things settle down we would ease our way back into it. If clubs became permanent no sex zones we would probably pack it in altogether.

3. Above answer pretty much covers this one as well.

1 - If they could open as a "social club" yes we would attend to support them.

.

2- Yes, we would probably play with each other for watchers.

with the usual caveats of mobiles being banned of course.

.

3 - No, we would respect the social distancing rules put in place

to avoid them being shut back down again.

I would be surprised if clubs open up at all until a vaccine is found. Social distancing in a swingers club! Are you having a giraffe!

Who said it’s going open in july? I heard councils told clubs they won’t be allowed to open this year at all

"What are you basing clubs opening in july on?"

Bars and restaurants and clubs are on the list published as the step to be taken in July as part of easing lockdown. But with social distancing.

Specifically Sex clubs or just general nightclubs?

Vicky (Townhouse) as the font of scene knowledge and voice of reason can you shed any light on this?

The guidance doesn't and didn't previously specify...however clubs shut in accordance with bars and restaurants shutting so as a hypothesis I am using the same. Hence also the questions for owners.

I did read earlier that Boris has said that he wants to try to get back to "near normality" by July.

Although I personally am doubtful that this extends to full capacity (no social distancing measures in place) at bars/pubs let alone swinging clubs.

Personally I would attend a swinging club when they do.open provided I feel it safe enough to do so

Things are changing every day so by July who knows.

The new guidelines say stay alert that means people have to judge the risks for themselves. If happy try a club , if vulnerable or know anyone vulnerable then maybe stay away.

The government have been issuing guidelines for factories and offices about controls that should be in place ahead of reopening.

I would expect that there will be ones for the entertainment industry, let’s see what these say. It maybe that pubs, bars, restaurants and clubs have to be checked by the local council.

I am not going to add further speculation to the masses already on Fab. I am in communication with our local public health authority and the likelihood of swinging clubs being allowed to open as swinging clubs in July or anytime soon is very very slim.

Once we know more about the pubs and restaurant opening caveats, some venues may be able to open as pubs or social clubs if they can maintain social distancing in their venue (we are all different in size and shape) and if it's financially viable, with what is likely to be a reduced capacity and reduced demand. We need to consider if there will be further financial help for businesses further down the line and if so, this will most likely stop if we choose to open, albeit with a reduced turnover due to reduced numbers. So all clubs will need to number crunch and choose the best option for them financially.

It would be remiss of me to say anything further at this point as we are all simply guessing at this stage; things are changing all the time.

We have plans in place for most eventualities and they will be shared as and when we put them in place and no sooner on these forums, as it's a waste of time until we know more over the coming months.

The argument of swinging clubs being closed at the same time pubs and restaurants and therefore opening at the same time is not a good argument. Gyms also closed at the same time and it's looking like the end of the year before they can open...again that is speculation though and not fact.

I'm guessing we will have to wait and see. I've got swinging friends abroad who have said that in Italy and I believe it was Spain.. ( was a rather late night convo) that some clubs are looking at opening in July... so I'd hope we would be about 3 months behind them but it's all speculation.

Saying that I'm hopefully off to Italy in July so

Pubs and restaurants etc will only be able to open if they can enforce social distancing for both their staff and their customers. This would be impossible for a swingers club. The idea that they could just open as "social" venues is nice as I'd love to meet up with all my friends again but in reality would any local authority allow this to happen and how could it be policed? Like others have said on this thread its probably unlikely that they'll be able to open for quite some time.

Gran Canaria relies heavily on tourists though and many people go out there specifically for the club scene. I can see them pushing for clubs re-opening out there...maybe take some risks? Who knows?

It’s not anywhere as it’s incorrect.

Phase 3 of the reopening plans, which will not happen ‘before 4th July’ will include the opening of some elements of the hospitality industry, with additional required measures implemented. It doesn’t yet specify what elements, but initial projections are cinemas & theatres with spacing in seating - venues where people’s interaction with others is limited.

Pubs & restaurants are likely to be a lot further down the line - and may start with opening for outdoor service only, with table service & significant spacing between tables.

Other interpretations are that it’s cafés and restaurants with outdoor space which can enforce social distancing.

Epsom, Surrey

Live music gigs with standing areas and "mosh pits", nightclubs with dancing, football and other sports with full capacity stadiums, theatres & cinemas without empty seats, regular rush hour train capacity.

There will be a push for all the above things to be allowed to happen again. They all will happen at some point and I think Swingers Clubs will follow a similar timetable

We would want to support any club once they are legally allowed to open because presumably that means any government funds will stop.

If socially distancing is required when they open we would attend on a purely social basis.

Whatever it takes to help the clubs survive in the long run then thats what we will do.

My point in asking the questions was simple...the intention was to open "higher risk" businesses from 4 July. Personally I think the policing of this is almost impossible therefore a pilot would not be a pilot in reality.

I have read a lot of comments saying "cannot wait for club to reopen...we are going to do this/that/the other". As social distancing isn't going away how many venues would open on that basis and how many swingers would attend a social club? I think contributors so far have been very sensible. It was a gauge of feeling.
