I think this is a great idea, there's a plethora of diversity out there, having a room for such would be great, not just for those in the know but also for those new who seek advice so that they know a safe way to explore.

We like both. The main BDSM fetish site occupies a very different space than Fab apart from just the fetish angle. It doesn’t work well as a place to connect in my opinion and it is also global rather than UK focussed. BDSM events tend to be pretty sexless affairs which is great for some but one of the reasons we pitched up here. So whilst not using the chat here, I do feel a BDSM section would be good, preferably a forum for us for those that straddle both worlds.

I don't think a chatroom is something that will ever happen, mostly down to the grey areas of legality around BDSM as a practise and specifically with regards to the Criminal Justice Act and it's even greyer area of extreme pornography.

BDSM is not a fetish, it is a collection of every fetish there is. BDSM has something for everyone, if you have ever had a set of handcuffs on and been locked to a bed you have engaged in BDSM

It had been asked for several times and now some are even talking of a fabfet site.

The other fetish site is more like Facebook. it purposely doesn't make it easy to find local like minded people for play privately.

So a better site to help kinsters find each other would be fantastic, and the fab model is proven to work well.

In the past week alone I can find at least three threads where, wtf, vomit emoji's and general dislike of the OP's kinks have been publicly expressed by many users in reply to a post. In general the same thing is said by those replying, it's a public forum I can say what I like, you asked for opinions, this is mine, etc, etc.

I can't see how a BDSM forum or chat area would be different. The general principles of kink is safe, sane and consensual, not judgment, intolerance and the opinions of people who don't get their kicks in the same way.

The only possible way that you could work it is with the understanding that if you've nothing positive to say, say nothing. I'd love it to work, I truly do but unfortunately the day to day posts in must other rooms indicate this is unlikely.

I would definitely use it. My worry is fab times about talking about violence, (not all scenes are considered violent, but hopefully you catch my drift)

If anything they deem violent is mentioned it gets removed or stopped from being posted in the first place

As another person said earlier in the thread, this is not a bdsm site. You would have to have full time mods in there in case someone went too far on cam, the mods are currently volunteers who help in their spare time. There are plenty of existing sites for this. Fab is essentially a vanilla swinging site.

I think the point was, what if it goes too far? People will always push boundaries, someone will get hurt at some point when things are pushed too far, probably better to not go there in the first place I think. If you see something like this on cam perhaps you need to find a chat moderator in another room and ask them to take a look or report the profile from their profile.

What you are talking about is also breaking the chat rules, which are there for very good reasons, ie to protect both the people who are using the site chat/cam rooms and the site itself (from a legal point of view).

I've been on this site nearly six years now and at the beginning, frequented the chatrooms regularly - more than I did using the search facility.

The things I've seen, the things that have been wrote, a lot has broken the rules one way or another. None of which have had a BDSM element attached to it.

Why is it, every time fetishism is mentioned in the forums, some have to be soo negative about it - Its like 'shush we know its there, but we can't suggest anything about change to suit this wider swinging community'

Its in all the swinging clubs and events are held using this site to generate those business'.

Its hypocrisy at its best....
