Cam and Chrome Update Temp solution

"Current versions of Google Chrome now require that any content attempting to access the camera or microphone must be served over HTTPS. Google mediates access between Flash and the Camera, so we can't even see that a camera is available until you authorize it in Chrome. If the content isn't served over HTTPS, Chrome will automatically block the camera/mic request, you won't get an authorization dialog, and Flash will never see the attempt to use the camera, nor will it be able to access one.

Chrome's goal here is to force content providers to protect your privacy, by making sure that all camera/mic streams are encrypted. The content provider will need to update their service.

"

found this on the adobe website

As mentioned above the chatsite of fab is not running on https hence causing flash not to pick up a webcam.

Temp fix is to download an older version of chrome.

I've reverted to version 59.0.3071.86 of chrome ( current version is 60) and the webcam now works in the chat room.

Slimjet has older chrome revisions.

hope this hopes in the mean time

More important are Fab going to also update the site as Flash will be fazed out totally.... I have been a member nearly 5 years and always trusted chrome but having to revert to IE ...

Mine question is do I pay for another gold membership when I could lose use of my cam at any time?

Guess this is gonna cause alot of upset for a large number of paying members that use the cam feature.

The above fix is useless as chrome does auto update with each reboot. Only way to disable the update is to edit the system registry etc..

Tho at the same time this will cause alot of security issues hence why google release these updates in the first place and other browsers follow suit.

Guess will have to wait till admin to provide a new solution
