time delay on mic in chat rooms

I have been having problems recently when I have my mic on talking live to those in the chat room as there seems to be a time delay, and can take roughly 10 secs before they can hear what I am saying.I use google chrome and find it very frustrating that it's not working as it should.

Any ideas please?

It's to allow the moderators time to hear what you say before it goes 'on air'

If you are swearing or being offensive, they can add the 'bleep' over the offending word/words before it is heard by the room population.

If vastly out of sync with video then may be a computer issue

Also have seen some pc's be very slow at encoding if using a high resolution on webcam and pc not fast enough. Try lowering webcam resolution

This is worth trying. We see no indication it's the flash/media server here which simply spits back out what it receives without any processing

Nothing to do with sync. it's that it takes time for the sound to come on after the picture has come up. Also the sound doesn't swich immediately when you switch cams. You can be viewng a new cam but still listening to the sound of the previous cam for a number of seconds.

Make sure you're using latest version of the browser (if IE) or google chrome.
