Users sneaking in multiple rooms

We're going live with a chat update tomorrow morning (Sat 25th June) that we think should fix the "users sneaking in multiple rooms" issue.

If multiple logins to one chat account are detected the oldest ones are all logged out. This should stop people opening multiple tabs in one browser, for example.

This update is in response to the numerous complaints that some users sneak around the one-room system

Any problems or feedback let us know. If there are still "sneakers" after this update we have a phase II we can apply.

From discussions in chat this morning, it seems to be working fine!

One point that was raised was:

Now that you can recognise multi-room logins, would it be possible to enable this for Site Supporters, subject to the usual cameras per user limit, 2 (1 docked + 1 Active) or 4 (3+1)?

Crikey! Possible, but... Most folks don't use most of the stuff that already exists on the site though so we're reluctant to invent (and explain) complex new functionality that isn't going to get broad usage.

Hi,

Over the last few days, I've seen one or two users who appear to be in more than one room at once, i.e. their name appears on the list and you can click on their cam to bring their picture up.

This morning, one user is showing as being in Directing Room 4 for 1:06 and in Dir 2 for 0:16. They are not responding to posts in Room 4, but are in 2, so i'm convinced that, as far as they are concerned, they have left room 4. It seems that there is still a bug, where a user is not correctly logged out of a room.

There is now a bug rather than sneakers and we intend to fix this when we roll out the next chat update (probably, late Summer)

One member has openly said in chat that they are in two different rooms at the same time.

there is a user now in at least 2 rooms this is not a delay thing either she has been in directing 2 and directing 4 now for over half an hour !!!!!
