whenever I open up this site I get a page saying ' you cant view this profile' instead of my home page xx I have to click on 'my account' to bring my home page up

Have you tried all those things like logging out and back in again, switching on and off or clearing your cache and seeing if any of that helps?

I actually have no idea what any of that means but apparently it sometimes helps with these sort of gremlins....

Do you open from a bookmark? If so, you've probably just bookmarked the wrong page.
