NW & Mids

Theres a campsite at Stonethwaite a few miles on from Borrowdale its "semi wild" so quite basic in terms of facilities i.e. no showers, but if you want the WOW factor, travel there in the evening when its dark pitch up and check the view in the morning

Well scotgate campsite was deserted of tents so went round to a caravan and camping site then told them to stuff it as they only wanted backpacking tents and were wanting nearly £25 a night

We stay at Hawkeshead Hall, good facilities, plenty of walks and cycling and Tarn How's nearby which is just stunning. We go in our campervan

Depends what you going for. If with family and kids Fisherground in Eskdale as u can have fires, big play park, gorgeous walks, decent pub five min walk. It is awesome but if looking for a romantic hideaway I'd look at the Cool Camping Guide book.

We've had a few holidays in the lakes. We go up in a camper and just find somewhere to park up for the night. There's plenty of lay us and free car parks on the edges of the lakes where you can lay up.
