Hiya. I’m a wild camper also, although havnt got many under my belt yet. I’m based in Nortn East Northumberland, but traveling to a new spot that i literally choose based on where my car keys land after being dropped from about 3 foot, above a map, normally over the cheviots or the Lake District or anywhere the weather looks ok on the forecast of the UK and I make sure that area is in the center of the big map before keys are dropped.
I’ve had about three wild camps I think in your neck of the woods. And by that I mean your side of the wall. 😃😃.
You’re right, there isn’t many naturist spots. Your side or mine. But that’s one of the things I live about wild camping, we don’t need a campsite or a specific area. I just find a spot in the key drop area once I’ve got there. Has to be near safe parking and overnight parking not an issue. Hopefully a hotel nearby if weather takes a turn for the worse. There’s always clean dry clothes in the car and a blanket just in case.
But generally, I pitch where I like. Been with a friend twice. Had plenty of fun in the nearby river. ( more like a stream ), I sat at the deepest part, leaning back on two hands, friend kept mostly dry whilst on my pelvic area. I’m sure you get the picture. Gorgeous moonlit night, and we ended up being starkers and playing all around the tent, yes, outside, then as the moon really got to full strength the coldness kicked in, and so did the memories of scenes from that old werewolf film on the moors. So we hastily ran to the “ safety “, of the tent. Me being a repeater, we had fun on and off until morning. Slept till noon, repeat episode before we had breakfast, then back to the car. That was between Herefordshire and Wales I think. Never took notes.
But it’s in the day nav.
I’ve camped in a secluded part of Bamburgh. Right below the castle, and out of peoples view, although it wasn’t totally secluded. Felt like game of thrones having fun with my friend looking up at the castle ha.
Then, a secret, well, not so secret cove near where I live, kind of hidden off the beaten track. It’s a small cove or cave, its entrance is about 6-7 feet in height, its bottom level is about 6 foot from the main ground. It’s deep enough to hide from bad winds and rain and it’s small enough for it to be cosy. Could easily fit 8-10 bivvies, or 4 2 man tents. It is a cave so adequate comfort between yourselves and the floor is recommended, and as many blow up mattresses as possible. Had a fantastic couple of nights herebin the summer and autumn. With company and myself.
I’d highly recommends this cove to you both.
And, if you two would like to get to know each other better I’d really like that also. Maybe even meet up somewhere, maybe even that cove. In the summer when I went, the cool air that slowly drew in from outside, brushing over the fire and circulating its heat around the cane was something you have to experience. My friend and i spent the whole afternoon, evening and night/early morning , as nature had intended us to do. As naked as seals. Hopefully hear from you two soon.
Take care for now.
Steve .
