Micro campers

Huddersfield

Anyone with experience for micro campers. Looking at vw caddys and the small fords as I dont really have the space to park a full size transporter or transit but not sure whether there very practical or not.

My first van i converted was a 2006 vauxhall Combo.

Then i had a citroen dispatch 2006

Now ive got a vivaro overall outside lengths not much in it and still fit in parking bays

I also converted a hightop combo, reasonable standard with a drive away awning ,used it a lot but got fed up putting awning up for a long stay. It was ok for overnite ,deisel heater ,loo etc ,but found a tribby and got that .

We’ve got a Nissan nv200 best little van in our opinion it sleeps two adults one child and two small dogs. The floor of the van is flat so you can swivel the front passenger seat with ease, An the little 1.5 deisel dose 45mpg even all loaded up.

I’ve got a vivaro, it’s small enough to fit in a parking space , low enough to make it into most car parks so best trade off for space vs comfort ??

Really liked my tin top diesel Bongo. It ran on cheap cooking oil and was a load lugger.

Seating versatile. I took back row out completely and could slide middle row,which had 1,2 or 3 folding option, right to the back for maximum middle load space.

All seats including front could fold completely flat, offering various bed configurations. Rear/ mid seats easy to remove for temporary van use.

IMO best left unmodified as with all smaller vans. Use side tent for long stay camping with kitchen and toilet facilities. Sleep in good sized van bed (I'm talking max 2 people).

Sadly, after 15 years it got too old and I now have a petrol Stepwgn which is nice and quiet but less of a work horse. Less manoeuvrable. Seat cofiguration far less versatile (taking out half the middle row creates more space), floor a bit undulating but at least no step for things to roll and drop down into. Haven't christened it yet but got potential with heavy privacy glass which I've added removable inside insulation for sleeping.

Bongo had lovely silvered side windows. Girls used to beautify themselves alongside all the time!

I love Japanese shagging wagons and so do the Japanese young people who tend to live with mum and dad!
