Does wild camping in a motorhome count?

I’m sure it can count if you’re off grid. It might not be as wild as some people perceive but you’re still surviving with your own supplies.

Love wild camping in the motorhome

Finding somewhere nice to pull up and stay could be in a lay by with a nice view in the country or on the seafront nothing better

Pretty much every weekend I'm out near Cov, Leicester or further afield! Would love a regular meet who is also into wildies. Preferably female or transfemale, but happy to meet with like-minded lads who know I'm not there to fuck them haha

Strongly disagree, wild camping is in a tent in the wild with nobody else around. Not in a campervan or on a campsite. Basically wild camping is what camping used to be.

Completely understand your sentiment, but you are wrong.

You may choose not to do it like that. I personally wouldnt, and like to wild camp with the same sentiment as you.

But long as its not a designated campsite your wild camping

Waverider is correct if he is talking about wild camping in Scotland. What people do south of the border is of little interest to me, but in Scotland wild camping has a definition in the Outdoor Access Code, it's misleading and unhelpful to talk about parking in laybys as wildcamping. Help people understand and keep to the code so we can keep Scotlands access laws as free as they are, If we can choose to ignore the guidelines we are likely to end up with more restrictive rules, as in parts Loch Lomond National Park.

Wild camping for me is when you've built your shelter, prepared cooked and eaten and slept outdoors.

Van camping is when you sleep in a van, regardless of where it is.

But, as far as I'm concerned if people are getting outdoors, being responsible and respectful to the principles of leave no trace then I'm pleased .

You're definitely wrong. what does wild mean? It means to be outdoors, in the wild, not in a van or motorhome. Instagram has ruined this.

Ok, lets agree to disagree.

In the access code, it does have a very loose definition of wild camping, saying lightweight camping of small numbers for no more then a couple of nights.

It doesnt cover anything with a motor therefore by definition in scotland, motorhome could not be classed as camping.

However not everyone lives in scotland, nor goes camping in scotland.

In england wild camping is defined as setting up camp outside of a campsite or caravan park. Therefore parking up anywhere in your motorhome that isnt a campsite can be classed as wild camping.

I understand the sentiment in which your coming from and completely agree myself, other then the need for a tent as i never take a tent when i go wild camping.

You can go and enjoy what you feel is wild camping and other people can enjoy what thet feel is wild camping.

100% this, get outdoors, leave no trace and be respectful

And why is that?

If people are being respectful and responsible (which I know unfortunately some people aren't) why does it bother you enough to refer to it as "nonsense"?

If it's something that brings you happiness and has no impact, good on you for getting out and enjoying yourself and the beautiful countryside!
