Camper conversion, hints tips and advice

Hi all, I'm about to start a van conversion on a Renault master van . It's my first time converting but I'm pretty handy and got plenty of tools. As ever I'm keen to do it as cheaply as possible to a high standard, happy for second hand parts. so what's your advice ?? Any parts recommendations ?? Thanks in advance.

Make sure to insulate it first with sound deadening material that sticks to the panels and floors.

Then non porous insulation- b and q do a plastic one.

Don’t use sheets and they can creak.

Run your wires in and then start on the fun stuff

Have you a lay out in mind iv done a transit twice as didnt like the first layout. Now we have seat st8 in front of sliding door with cooker grill and 2 rings one side rear and WC with fold down sink over it on other side and shower tray in between. Works well for transit sized van. Lay out wiring early on... Q do you intend to change it on log book to camper as the dvla have some very stupid rules. But it is legal to use even you keep it as a van. And in my case tax is £5 less as a van.

Whatever you do do not use loft insulation blanket for the body cavities- it causes catastrophic corrosion

I have some parts for a camper conversion you might want - hob sink, gas fittings, 3 way fridge, wiring, water pump, tanks, battery management unit etc. All came out of my previous van conversion. If you’re interested Let me know on here and I’ll open up my profile for DMs

Hi thanks for the advice and I'd like to talk about the parts. Secondhand and reusing and recycling is part of the ethos where possible. Cheers

Thanks for the tips and advice. You tube has certainly taken a battering the last few weeks. Can't wait to get started and hopefully join the van dabbing community
