wondering what the best sort of tent might be for a festival.

Sometimes big enough for the 2 of us plus room for a guest bull

Bell tent seems to be good but they seem expensive - any thoughts from you experienced festival goer's

In my opinion, best thing for festival is a small and light tent. Realistically if you get a 4 berth cheap tent, then it will be enough space for a couple and and extra to have some fun in.

Often on festivals space is a premium, but i have seen big groups pitching up with huge castles.

I wouldn't wanna be the one who carries that.

Myself, I have a cheap 4 berth from Lidl or Aldi ( can't remember which one) and works great, done many trips. And when packed up it's tiny and light. Also, pitch up time under 15 minutes.

For regular camping i have 3 bedroom 6 berth inflatable (berghouse air 6xl) but that's another story completely

Chippenham Malmesbury area

What about those cardboard disposable ones? Never seen one but I'm interested in what they are like, especially in the British weather.

Thanks for the advice so far, we are off to kendal calling in the summer and will be on site from Thursday to avoid the rush on Friday

So might be able to grab a few extras we have a trolley so can get some luxury items to the tent

I don't know your budget but why don't you check the decathlon webstore? They have few nice models such as ARPENAZ CAMPING TENT XL ?

Thanks for the advice I did not think about Decathon.

I quite like the Arpenaz living room with poles it's pritty mutch a gazebo type tent - no sleeping compartment but just under £130 its good

We do have a tent but want something that stands out a little

Ps it looks easy to carry - it's more of a day tent but will concider it for sure

Had a look at the bell tents and they are very heavy if you go for the proper traditional canvas type

So not so good for a festival lightweight is the way forward

Good luck with KC, I would recommend a separate sitting / storage area as well as sleeping area, also, grab one of those sun awnings, for when it rains, then you have somewhere to sit outside of your tent when it rains….it always rains at KC, or at least 90% of the times I’ve been there, arrive early to get setup, while there is plenty of choice, otherwise, you will find you struggle to get a tent pitch within 3 miles of the arena.

Other thing is, make sure you make some noise….lol, you’d be amazed how quick it turns the whole field into a fuck fest when one person starts ??????

Thanks Nylon Big some good advice, we are booked in on the Thursday so should get a good pitch - pocket ponchos at the ready

The shelter sounds like a good idea & we are very familiar with Kendal weather

Have a great day
