Swinging aside.

Maybe we can post tips and advice that we have picked up over the years to help make camping more enjoyable.

Maybe post questions.

I'll start.

Clothing,we always pack the car meticulously,small car lot's of equipment.

Then always always get to the end and struggle to get our luggage bags in, we try to keep it to a minimum but even so at least a decent size holdall and maybe another smaller one.

If you are in a tent. Don't set up miles from the toilets.

As for those troublesome wasps. Get yourself one of them electrocuting tennis rackets.

Vacuum bags, as in those that compress your clothing,you can always buy a small 12 volt vacuum to resuck at the of the trip plus keep you tent clean.

As most campers know ! Be it a tent, caravan or camper. Space is limited. And when you are away camping. There is always that problem of keeping your dirty washing somewhere.

So what do I do. !!! I take along mostly old socks/pants and t-shirts. I wear them once and bin them.

Win win No large laundry bag needed. And less washing when you get home.

Just started this van life journey this week actually, and intend to spend half my life in a van, half my life at home (I have reasons, I'm not totally mad) so interested to see people's ideas.

One from me, if you're in a campervan, get those little organisation trays/baskets for your drawers and cupboards. Really help with organisation

We found the vacuum packs to be very handy.

Only other tip is to fit stuff in around the spare wheel. There's a fair bit of dead space in the boot on modern cars to get odds & sods squared away.

I always make a list so I don't forget any of the essentials. But I get we're only human and sometimes miss some things out. But whatever you do don't forget to pack the means to make a brew! It's easy to rough most things out as long as you have tea and the means to make it.

When we did tenting...we used to have a 2cv, filled up all the underseat spacem spare wheel well space, travelled light....seems a world away from an always loaded (apart from food, bikes and some clothes) motorhome..

Always take toilet roll

And always keep 50 to 75 quid by.

Then you can get a b&b if it pishes down and your tent leaks.

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

Wifey and I went camping a couple of years ago. I made a list . Counted everything off as we loaded the car . All good. Until we set up and realised we forgot the pillows

I never used to bother with them, always loved camping but as I’m well passed 50 a few home comfort’s make a difference to a good night sleep haha
