.

Looking for recommendations for a motorhome site in the Lake District. I am visiting the first week in January to do some mountain biking and hill walking.

Thanks in advance.

Where abouts in the lakes will you be staying? A lot of campsites close in the winter months

I was thinking of somewhere near Grizedale Forest. Do you guys spend much time in the Lake District?

There's a few around hawkshead that'll be quite quiet, you might want to be closer towards Ambleside so you can go in for food and drinks if that's what you'd prefer. I'm from the lakes so happy to help

Thanks very much I will have a look around that area. Ideally I am looking to go mountain biking and and hill walking during the daytime and then some good food and drink in the evening.

Thanks for your help.

I have just walked past a couple of great looking campsites near Castlrigg stone circle just outside Keswick. Quite a few people camping there too.

I would say Hawkshead as well, Grizedale on your doorstep, walna scar and Loughrigg are very close too

Strongly recommend High Bridge End campsite, at the tip of Thirlmere. Good all round facilities and great views at night, within walking distance to many big walks, in particular Helvellyn

Well I live on the edge of the lakes and be great to meet like minded fun people and have a few drinks around a camp fire/fire pit if there's anyone coming up this way and fancies a new friend
