Can you park overnight on the road in a motorhomein adjacent to Studland beach

Would be interested to find this out as well . Never been to studland but don’t fancy finding a site a few miles away for an overnight stay then having to move the van to drive to the beach.

I don't believe you can, any cars, motorhomes etc parked on road by Studland last summer were all ticketed, an no overnight parking in the car park either

As above you are not allowed but if you can find a site on the bus route from Poole to Swanage that would save moving it.

No you can not park over night on Studland road but can stay there during the day. Swanage is now not motorhome friendly only place to park in there is the car park they have the market in.

I you are a member of the National Trust can park noel beach car park have to get there early

Hi everyone we went 5 or 6 times last summer and parked the motorhome on the main road behind the nudist part of the beach during the day without any ticket issues but they do have ticketing guys out early in the morning 6am ish to ticket any overnighters. We turned up early one morning to catch the sunrise and had a chat with a local MH owner who pointed out the wardens to us. We camped about 20mins away on a site then drove down there after breakfast, had a few long weekends down there and looking forward to some more.

There is yes, studland summer camp. But it's closer to Swanage than studland.

Hello all

I know that you cannot park on the ferry road overnight between 11pm to the morning 6.30am , You are not allowed and you will get a ticket of £68 fine and may this year if they put up the fine

I been going there for the last 9 years now I get there after 6.30 to 7am and the time by 9am it started to get full of the weather is good, Or you can park in the National Trust Knoll Car park up by the knoll hotel , If you are a member of the National Trust you will get it cheaper Or the one coming across the Sandbanks ferry car park is Also National Trust car park , So I park along the ferry road ,

As mentiond above, you can't overnight on the Ferry Rd, the site isn't far and I usually leave the van parked up there and ride down to the Beach.

Just a noticed this just though id give a heads up, there were places where parking was tolerated overnight in and around the isle of Purbeck but after the state and fires after people descended last year left the place in a mess the police and councils are going to to be hot on fines and moving people on this year. So your best bet is to book a campsite or seek land-onwners permission - few were renting out fields.

So if you park along in ferry road you stand a high risk of fine this year. All the area around isle of purbeck is privately owned

Remember if you are in a camper, motor home or tent there should be no evidence you were there - do not destroy our beautyful countryside

The nearest official cam site is Corfe Castle (with facilities) but that few miles away. Some of the land owners allow camping in their fields nearer but often don't have facilities. If you want go to the nudest beach it is nearer the ferry end and is quite a hike to get to it. Parking in the road is likely to be tricky this year.

There are loads of campsites nearby.

Swanage has loads. Tom’s field and Downshay Farm highly recommended.

No matter how busy it gets this year, you will always find somewhere to camp or park a van.

There is street parking in Swanage where you can park a camper overnight, you just have to know where.

overnight "wild Camping"is being frowned upon in Devon. latest news about Covid restrictions reported campervans tipping all types of their waste in the ditches. So the police will be keeping an eye out, as many sites are booking up fast See this from Devon Live.

"Mortehoe Parish Council, which has within its boundaries one of the most popular beaches in the country, Woolacombe Beach, is urging the authorities to change the legislation so that campers, camper vans, caravans and motorhomes must use existing registered and approved camping and overnight areas for overnight stays.

It follows an increasing number of visitors to the parish who are parking up by the side of roads or in ordinary parking spaces and spending the night, or camping for three or four nights or longer".

In a letter to Boris Johnson, the parish council said that because there is often a lack of proper drainage or sanitation, subsequent visitors to these spots are, unknowingly, often walking through, sitting in, or playing in areas contaminated by the effluent and waste from the unauthorised overnight visitors.

Studland Summer Camp is totally vanilla. I have been going for a number of years. One of the people running it is a retired policeman who has made his thoughts on swinging quite clear in conversationsome over the years, anyone doing so will be told to leave. As a vanilla site it's basic but nice
