Off for a weekend camping near Studland in late August, anyone have any recommendations for good places which accept tents around there? Any extra recommendations? Looking to visit Studland beach and see what fun is to be had. Thanks all!

Downshay farm is a good site

It’s in Harmans Cross just north of Swanage.

I stayed at burnbake campsite a few years ago as I was cycle touring around the area. It’s just off the corfe castle to studland road.

It was just a place to pitch and lay my head for a night but from what I saw it seemed as good as any other campsite.

There are quite a few round here for both tents and vans. Ulwell campsite and Herston are both good also there is toms field in Langton and the one above in Harman's cross plus woody Hyde which is out on its own but with the steam railway views. They are the big ones but there are plenty of pop up one's in the area. As for campervans, anywhere with good views is not allowed but if you go a 5 minuite walk from town there is plenty of on street parking you can use.

Harmans Cross. That bring back memories of 35 or so years ago when I stayed there. The site owners had a pet pig. That had a free run of the site back then. The pig took a dislike to the awning of the caravan parked next to us. The pig ripped the awning to shreds. Funny how certain things stick in your head, and you never forget.

I bet babe was bacon after that.
