We are hoping to find some nice quiet spots for our motorhome in France in August.

We're meant to be coming down on the 3rd of July, but the site we are on is saying they may not be able to open until the 10th at the earliest, pissed off is an understatement, we've been working bloody hard during this lockdown doing more hours than ever, so we really need a break!!!!!

Steady trickle in Devon as well - camper vans been parked up in Exmouth for a few weeks now.

Sardines and Cornwall go hand in hand.

What is the difference between a Sardine and a Pilchard.

Only ever camped in Cornwall once stayed at a site called Treloy touring park near Newquay. Its a lovely site but it pissed it down all week the same week as the Boscastle flash flood.

Unfortunately the pilchards were fished to extinction in Cornwall 100 years ago. I think size is the main difference...

Great campsite not far from sennen, up the hill from gwenvor beach ...if you get a good week the beaches are the best I've seen ...

I think Newquay must be a particularly popular place , I think most other places, certainly in West Cornwall , have had a fairjy gentle reopening .

We doubt it will be quiet. The only hope is that toilet blocks will remain closed so all the people who spent lockdown buying discounted tents won't go. Otherwise it will be like sardines, similar to the Durdle Door madness recently.

"The only hope is that toilet blocks will remain closed so all the people who spent lockdown buying discounted tents won't go." wow. Not everyone can afford hotel stays, caravans or camper vans. That's a pretty harsh statement, not to mention snobbish.
