Every year my interest gets less and less. First ride of the year yesterday and I'm meh.

Even at my age, I still smile when I can throw my Blade around!

OP I'm sure you'll feel different when warmer weather gets here.

I had a blade and loved it but as I was starting to feel my age I also used to think like that. Changed the bike to something more comfortable and hey ho, excitement returned. That was 11 years ago. I can't wait to get the bike taxed at the end of the month and get out. I will be smiling all the way and getting quite excited now at the thought

I've been out and about all year, I can't manage a full sports bike because of health issues but the sports tourers do it for me

You maybe just need a change of bike? I was riding sports bikes for the last 12 years. Recently bought myself an Indian Scout Bobber and I love it. Different experience all together.

S1000XR - sports bike in disguise

"S1000XR - sports bike in disguise "

Mrs F had a Kawasaki Z1000SX. When I rode it I thought i was back on my Fireblade. Sit up rather than hunched over made it so much more comfortable so like the S1000XR, Z1000SX is a sport bike in disguise, well not disguised much to be honest with all that fairing

I love the surprise from the sports bike riders how fast the XR is!

I had an R6 that I clocked up over 50k miles on, it never once failed to put a smile on my face.

I got rid of it as it was no good in cities, also I would have lost my licence.

I got an RF900R after that, the fun wasn't quite the same. I am looking at an adventure bike next, just not sure which one.

Can't imagine life without my 30yo Honda CBR1000fj, never lets me down and was there for me when I lost my wife to cancer. Being "in the wind" takes your mind off some of the everyday shit that occurs, even it's only a brief respite.

Man I miss my R6 but if you’re getting bored of sports bikes just try other types. Both for experience and a new excitement and after a while you’ll want to jump back on sports.

I took a ride on a friends RC51 once and been gagging to find one to buy since.

I’ll probably always have a sports bike in the stable but bikes like the XSR900 are becoming increasingly attractive.
