So how many bikes have been labelled as hooligan bikes or widow makers? I’ll start

Yamaha RD350LC

Kawasaki KH750

1998 Yamaha R1

Suzuki TL1000

What others?

I had a 350lc when young and it was very easy to get into trouble on, not sure if it was inexperience or the way the power came on, had a turbo bandit that was very dangerous but in my opinion was a tuned vmax I had that would try and kill me at any opportunity.

No such thing as "widowmaker bikes" its just that fast bikes and slow brains are a bad match. As Clint said "A mans got to know his limitations".

Think the widow maker tag is the potential to get you in a lot of trouble, but it is true that a bike only goes as fast as your right hand makes it.

The TL got its nickname as it had inherently bad design, whereby the exhaust heated the rear shock (from memory) and after a while the handling went out the window - especially at speed!

As for Hooligan bikes, the bandit 1000 and Z1000 used to attracta certain following..

Old Kawasaki Mach1 particularly the home turbo’d variety were fairly leathal.. TL1000 also had handling issues, vtr1000 firestorm before the steering damper...

But as with everything in the right hands it’s good in the wrong hands it’s a quick goodbye...

What about a Honda Cr500 ??

Road wheels and big brakes!

Road registered!

You could just pick it up by yourself..

Use to let customers have a go on it if they could start it..

All who rode it came back with the shakes...

Not had the pleasure of riding the cr500 Supermoto but I did a cr250 one about 6 years ago. Aprillia rs125 wheels and brakes (brembo) went straight in. Took it to a couple of classic bike trackdays (cadwell and Anglesey) and was made an offer I couldn’t refuse for it
