Going in to Europe in the summer

Planing a route of about 4000 K

Need a good bike sat nav

Any recommendations

We used garmin 660 bike sat nav, mate used Tom Tom rider. Both would give different routes so was interesting when we were out there together. Both good for the job. Garmin had music facility so could play my music back via sat nav. Tom Tom didn't have mp3 but that could have changed. The new Tom Tom has twisty Road facility but again never used one. My garmin never failed us

Waze as it has all the camera locations and you can pre-plan a route then use it offline.

I highly recommend a Quadlock case as a way of mounting it best decision I've made for bike accessories to date!

have an idea and follow signs if you end up lost then resort to google maps on phone . But have fun trying to find the right way first

Have you tried to follow signs when off the motorway over there? I'd say what signs? It's a completely different experience to riding over here, plus it's vast. Getting lost could take days to find yourself again. My very first trip into Europe I had no Sat Nav but luckily a mate took his. We very soon put him to the front of the pack. Its the reason I bought my garmin as I always said I'd never have one. Bought it to go into Europe only but as with any toy it was quickly used over here on our adventures. Sat Nav in Europe I'd say is the best piece of kit you could take, like I said the place is vast

I use mine, turn the sound off then ignore it & take what look like interesting roads. If I foul up then I just revert to y try he nav.

Much more fun & with the windy road switched to max back in Essex it took me on roads I’d never been on before & id been living there twenty years!!

I use an old Garmin Zumo 550. I have lifetime maps so will keep using it till it finally dies. I also use Google maps on my phone occasionally on a Quadlock mount. I have ran battery power up to the headstock for both devices. They both do the job but the Garmin is easier to view as the screen is less reflective.
