"Yes looking at a 1260. They're a little less frantic than the 1200. All the others are good too though, the KTM 1290 and the GS both have big plus points but the MSE seems to be more rounded than either to me. I've got to get rid of my FJR first though!" Good options for sure, but I've done the GS thing and I hate the KTM's looks. Might hold out for the V4 Multi though. Seems it's close! | |||

"Bought a 2016 Triumph Explorer xrx last June Amazing bike. Had a mate went from BMW GS to the Ducati. He had it 6 month and went back to BMW. Now have my Pan ST1300 for sale as I've not rode it since buying the Explorer, well I say not ridden, I took it for MOT but loved the ride that much I can't list it for sale. Its an amazing bike to ride too. So easy to buy bikes but so difficult to sell " GS to Multistrada isn't a natural progression. The Multi is definitely where you go after a sports / sport/tourer. The GS is a much more laid-back ride. The Multi will tear your nuts off if you let it. | |||

He just couldn't get it to run smooth enough to tear his nuts off, that was the problem. He works in the trade and changed a few things to sort out the tuning to no avail | |||

"Like I say you pays your money and you makes your choice. My ST3S has been trouble free for ten years, it's been commuted on, toured around Europe and been ragged on track days. It gets serviced by me alone and is well looked after. Your mates Multi, what year was it? Early 1200 models where rough running under three thousand RPM. Infact all pre DVT Dukes are so usually you drop a tooth on the gearbox sprocket or just ride around it. Going from the smoothness of a boxer to a v twin must have been a culture shock...lol" Wouldn't say a culture shock for him, he has an array of bikes in his stable. All 3 cant be bad as the GS, Multistrada and Explorer all seem to get the top 3 when they are reviewed, in that order too | |||

"I had an 1200 Exploder and it was nothing short of a disaster. Cylinder head issues and gearbox woes have put me off Triumph for good. The MSE is very good for me although like everything one mans meat is anothers poison. You pays your money and takes your choice.... " Did the head not get done under the recall? A friend was going to buy one but when pressed the dealer (Triumph) refused to sign a piece of paper confirming they had changed the head, they would only say "Bike has no outstanding recalls" which is not the same thing!
