We second that. We went a few years back. Prepare for lots of toll roads if you land in Calais. Have your card handy.

Not if you look at the road map I've driven around France and down that way a good bit with I was a European truck driver and you can quite easily cut a lot of tolls out without adding to much time on your journey.
