Loads of B&B's on the route all set up for single folk

plan where you want to stop and book ahead

Or if you are camping don't think there's any problem with that you can camp pretty much anywhere

We done in September 2023 and it was fucking awesome but we were very lucky with the weather

Wouldn't recommend it this time of year. Gritters are pretty limited,2 runs a day at maximum.

As for overnighting best to book in advance as it gets stupid money and booked out months in advance (feb-nov)

The guy above said camp anywhere but theres a real clampdown on it. Locals pissed off with the toilet waste left at the side of laybys, litter and 2 week long wildfires.

(No full time fire station bases for 90% of the nc500. We are all in full time jobs and it's a case of us travelling to the station to hopefully have enough crew to respond. It can be over 2 hours between each station and we are out at road accidents few times a week on average so dont fuck it up like too many fellow bikers sadly did this year.)

You can wildcamp which means at least 30m away from the nearest road,house,path, layby, vehicle etc. Including your own. And obviously its best to get landowners permission before being woken up with a gunshot two feet outside your tent. As its common to go out for a stag just to break the ice and say hello afger you didn't 🤣

Or legally you can overnight in a signposted layby or council car park but you must be self contained within the vehicle. Which obviously isnt great for bikers.

Best advice as a local. Who works on the roads everyday and has to deal with the live impact when things arent as simple as turning up, stay and shit anyway, race round it for a bit of fun. Because the roads are shit. Drivers are shit and the response time to get to the shit is shit.

Take care. Book a couple of places along the way. Take it in and enjoy it.
