"We are doing TT 2026 a little different from previous years. We have stopped with a mate in Douglas for many years taking the bike on the ferry. 2026 we are putting the bike in the back of our newly converted campervan and becoming nomads for 16 days. "Well we have just got round to trying the bike for size in the back of the van. Had it in before the conversion so we knew it goes in, BUT... The space between kitchen unit and shower room is to narrow to fit the bike in forward due to the wide tank and handle bars. It will have to go in backwards. So, a winch has now been fitted behind bulkhead to gently pull the bike up the bike ramp backwards. This weekend will be the test fit, wish us luck | |||

At least that way you'll be able to sleep in the van when travelling if needed" The bike will come out of the van and the bed lowered to sleep in, not much point having a campervan if you can't sleep in it. " We booked for 2026 TT the week before 2025 TT. The ferry company releases all the sailing at 8.30am the Monday before practice week. Logging onto their site can take you all morning. You have to be dedicated and patient. When you eventually get onto the booking page enter the days and times you want to go and come back. All about having your date options ready before you log in so you can get it done swiftly, you don't want to get logged out due to you taking to long and dithering. You pay a deposit, usually £90 per booking, then the balance is sent to you November and paid before the end of February. We have just paid our balance today for TT 2026. Hope that helps

I know people who book to take larger vehicles over a week or so before the restrictions kick in, park them up with a local contact, then come back as foot passenger to the UK then return here as foot passenger for the main event. | |||

"Just read the rules on caravans. Apparently you need a special permit from Isle of Man Government and to be pre-booked onto an official campsite before booking the ferry. Who knew. | |||

"Premier inn Douglas 26th - 2nd June With accommodation being at a premium for the TT if any fellow bike fans are struggling for accommodation I have booked the premier inn for these dates & as it’s only me staying in the room with if anyone sane is looking for a night or 2s accommodation I maybe able to help out the only rule is you must be sane & respectful " Did you get a mortgage for that.. we looked to book and wow. It was mentioned that by the health care workers that they do see a spike in attendance to the sexual health clinic in the weeks following the TT. | |||

Be sure to get on for the sailings when they get released in May for 2027, I think it could be Monday 18th at 8.30am, it's a scramble and can take you all morning to get onto the booking page | |||

"Was over on the island a few weeks ago. I won’t be going to the TT… overpriced. I’ll watch on the telly. Lovely place however!!! " Yes overpriced, but if you want to go to the worlds best road racing you have to pay to get there. When you are there though it must be the cheapest racing event ever. Where else can you watch the racing for free and only a metre from the road in a lot of places, the bikes nearly blow you off your feet you are that close. So all of that in the mix we think once there, take out the Steam Packet prices, it has to be great value for money. | |||
