Who's heading to Barrow for Dave day this weekend?

We'll be spending the whole weekend there in the camper and looking forward to the 000s of bikers wearing wild party shirts.

It was a brilliant weekend last year and loved the Massive Wagons gig (one of my favourite bands, we see them about 5 times a year). Can't remember what the gig line up is this year but it'll be fun.

Maybe a quick skinny dip or 2 at Walney naturist beach while we're there

Going up from Ace should be a good one and hopefully sunny all the way!

The town is a lot busier than last year. Lots have brought bikes on trailers and just doing the last leg into town via bike.

It's a celebration of the great late Dave Myres of the hairy bikers. He died last year and to celebrate, Lillian his late wife and Si King organised a charity bike ride from Ace Cafe North London to Barrow. About 23000 made it into the town from various meeting points. 45000 started but may not have made the whole journey due to time and commitments.

It's hopefully going to be an annual bike run, rock gig and fun.

Everyone wears wild party shirts, just like Dave used to on telly.

God bless you Dave, you were an amazing guy and lightened the life of so many people

Say hi if you see me/us. I'll be wearing an IOM TT red bandana and rocking out like a teenager, lol

Barrow was his home town, he lost his mother at a very young age and learned to feed himself and his dad, making whatever he could with whatever scraps he could find in the cupboard.

It started his love for cooking tasty grub from basic ingredients.

There's not many famous people from Cumbria, Dave Myres, Stan Laurel (Lorel and Hardy), John Dalton (1st person to describe the building of an atom) and a few bent and high poets like Words worth.
