Due to health reasons, Andy had a stroke and is unable to ever be able to ride again. Hes road since he was 16, and involved in racing for many years. I started riding about 6 years ago and have my own bike. We are looking at trikes, it would have to be an automatic for him to ride,

Anyone else had trikes?

Marie and Andy

Oh sorry to hear about that hopefully he's doing better. What sort of configuration are you looking at? For two wheels at front you have the likes of Yamaha and that. For traditional I'm not sure but I'm sure others will know.

Andys worked on a few car based trikes, but never really ridden one, apart from the time he rode a little trike into the side of Mal Carter's race van lol

Is sidecar an option ? With the racing background maybe even a f2 on the road it's been done a few times . They are great fun I have done this myself in the past . Three wheels in any configuration is always interesting handling wise

Not really as it will have to be an automatic.

All I can say is my partner at the time loved it for comfort and kids thought it was great fun lol it was a proper buzz to ride compared to a trike far better in the twisty bits with or without a passenger

A sidecar gives the rider a similar experience to a bike where as a trike is different more reliant robin than fireblade

I tried an F3 S and enjoyed it, but it was a bit more than I wanted to pay and I wasn’t quite ready for 3 wheels so ended up with a 2023 fatboy

Maybe a trike conversion of your present Harley? You would still have the recognised comfort and probably a cheaper option than buying a full on trike. There are many companies in England that do this.

Harley's have the luxury of having bespoke bolt on trike kits available.

It maybe an option. Best of luck, keep at it.

Hope you have better luck than our mate with one arm, they wouldn't give him any help. On the plus side, all of his mates clubbed together to buy him a trike and do all the conversions for him.

Fantasy land in the SW

I would suggest if youre buying a trike already made take someone with you who knows what to look for as theres many many really badly made trikes out there. Ive a vw based trike with an auto box on it, its just point and go. If you want more info/advice on riding them you can msg me privately. Have a look at 'Brothers of the 3rd wheel' and Trikes uk FB pages, theres loads on them and some really good advice too.

Good luck
