cardiff

My favourite ride is, leave Cardiff, upto Abergavenny, across to the Brecon Becons then head towards Carmarthenshire then back home n getting lost on the side roads on purpose so I never really know where I'll end up.

Normally I'm out for 6 to 8 hours.

I’m fortunate enough to live on the edge of the Yorkshire sales, so there’s loads of good roads around me.

But I especially like the run up to Hawes from Ingleton. Then go across towards Leyburn and loop back down via Masham

Here, There, Everywhere

Anywhere in the Lakes, Dales or West side of Scotland. Usually with a camp over. Amazing roads, scenery and people.

Helmsley for me but I suppose that's because it's my local run. About an hour and a half round trip but stop for lunch when I'm there so usually our around 2.5hrs.

I ride alone and the sc projects exhaust gets a bit much after that long

I’ve not been up Helmsley for years, might have to add it the list of places to go to this year

I really want to get back out again but this weather makes my knee say no. Is anyone still riding? Or have we got the bikes tucked away for the winter still?

Ellesmere port

Anywhere North Wales, particularly love the B5105 between Ruthin and Cerrigydrudion. Then take the B4501 to Bala Lake.

Decent, very quiet road without any average speed cameras. (well up to last year there wasnt.)

Chester

The road between Bala and Trawsfynnydd, or that between Bala and Llynclys crossroads are great…and then, of course, you have to get to and from them - there are some great routes in North Wales and North and mid Cheshire/Shropshire as well decent places for a brew and bits to eat…

Great riding

Used to ride from the port, towards Cowen then over the Horshoe Pass to Llangollen

Southampton/isle of wight/ everywhere

South coast here, head up the A32 from Fareham, up to Alton, then pick up the A339 towards Basingstoke. Loop home down the A31 through alresford and Winchester.

First few miles of the journey is normal roads and motorways, but the rest is a joy of national speed limits, good sweeping bends and plenty of overtake opportunities. However, a few idiots in sports cars do spoil it from time to time.
