After going round it on 2 wheels solo, I couldn't do it on 4 wheels in tourist season. I've not got the patience for the horrendous traffic on the many single track roads.

I'd do it again on a motorcycle.

I always find May and September the best months for touring in Scotland but you obviously never know with our weather. Hope you all enjoy yourselves, it’s a great route. Personal favourite is Ullapool but enjoyed it all. I’d also recommend having an overnight visit to Orkney.
