Now that the bikes will be put away in the garage for winter how can us swinging bikers spend the long dark cold weekends till spring returns and we can blow the cobwebs off the bikes again

My bike is a brand new Tiger, Mrs F's a 71 plate Speedmaster so no winter maintenance needed

Break out the autosol and dremel, work on the heel plates, footpeg hangers, etc. Give the bike a bit of TLC, possibly put some better bits on it.

I'll be removing the Translogic quickshifter on the suzuki ASAP(will be for sale),to put on a woolich racing one.while I am at it will put new plugs in and replace the fuel filter. Then service the front calipers with new seals and fluid, that'll do till near the start of the decent weather.

That's what we did, now the bikes my only form of transport unless it's cargo that needs shifting

Our cold wet rallies are over. We'll be in a hotel going to clubs the odd weekend. We like our weekends away in Premier Inn looking forward to the Premier Inn breakfasts

I’d say keep riding but I’ve got to replace the headers on mine and we all know what a pain that can turn into

We don't like what the salt does to bikes. It gets into all the bearings, linkages no matter how much you cover it with I think you call it ACF 50. Salt just eats them and our bikes are immaculate. Saying that I had a Pan European from brand new 2009 and last year a crazy car driver wrote it off. As the recovery man put it onto recovery truck he said boy have you looked after that bike it would look brand new if she hadn't wrecked it. That was a sad day as I was planning on keeping it for ever
