It's that time again to start a thread for TT2024 now Manx GP is over.

Post your TT 2024 stuff here folks.

We wonder what price the Steam Racket are going to make up this time round. Oh yea and the new ferry MANXMAN is amazing, we sailed on her to Manx GP last week.

We have booked the ferry and paid our £80 deposit for TT 2024.

It cost us over £400 for us two and 1 bike for this years 2023 TT so lets see what the invoice says when it arrives at the end of the year

For those booked to sail from Heysham you will be sailing on the Manxman. We sailed on her to Manx last week. It's an awesome ship, it was like walking into a 5 star establishment. They have been having a few teething problems as she only came into service 2 weeks ago but think it is going to serve the Island well. Take no notice to all the negative, winging people slating the vessel as some are very narrow minded. We were blown away and think it is a good beginning to any one's visit to Isle of Man. Well only just under 9 months to wait for TT 2024

Weather this year was perfect, very unusual to get 2 full weeks of it for perfect racing conditions. Hopping 2024 will be much the same.

Firstly we'll correct our misspelling #hoping# not hopping

We've been going every year for over 20 years so it's more about catching up with friends these days. So the silly question?? Swing in Isle of Man, absolutely no chance with Manx people. We've been messed around so many times by folk who live on the rock. Admittedly there are some over there who are genuine or don't mess people around but they hide well under the rock

Only advice we can give is book early as we have already done. Depending on what accommodation you are after get your camp site sorted, Hotels will most probably be booked up. Look at the government list for home stay, this is a great way to get digs at a good price and all are vetted by authorities. Anything you need to know just post and we are sure you will get the answers here

Thank you for replying I think we are planning on just using van/campervan. We take it you'd have to book a campervan in to the sites ?

We have mates who go in campers, they just dot about the island, book onto a site when they need to shower. Use ferry terminal for toilets. Suppose you need a bit more knowledge if doing that, maybe someone can give you advice on that. Glenloch is a good site for campers if you want a base but you are locked in when roads are closed for racing so planning in and out is essential

There we go, balance has come through. After our £80 deposit they want another £390. Thats for both of us and 1 bike. Nearly £500 now for the ferry. Where will these crazy prices stop. We do know Manx tailed off this year with less visitors , more to do with the new race schedule. TT now has a new schedule too, so lets see with the crazy ferry prices and schedule if things will start to go backwards with the amount of visitors to TT

Not while TT is on, we'd be gutted if we had to work. Saying that if folk didn't work hard, marshals and all there wouldn't be a TT so we do take our hats off to all who work hard for our enjoyment

Considering going, hopefully for a day trip during the 2nd week.

The current ferry times from Liverpool aren’t looking very good and it will probably be cheaper to fly to Alicante than Isle of Man from Liverpool.

Are they likely to add more crossing from Liverpool closer to the time or shall I start looking for some where to stay and car parking at Hayshem?

Booked ferries have to be fully paid by end of Feb. People who don't pay their balance by then lose it. All then go back up on sale, I think the first Monday in March at 8.30am. Check with Steam packet on exact date as it could be the following Monday. Hope that helps

It certainly is. Even people saying they are upgraded to lounge makes me shudder, we are Plebs and that's where we'll be, in the Plebs section where the best experiences are to be had. Plus you can't get your bike on an air plane

Locals were no problem back in my day, it was the TT competitors incognito over the mountain when roads were open, boy did they nearly blow you off, no pun intended. These days with all the cones up on the mountain it just isn't the same

"I tried flying there once, never again, the closest I got was flying over the island as the plane couldn’t land due to the fog, the Cloak of Manannan struck there!

Not to mention they use the smallest planes lol

It’s awesome now seeing all the teams and riders releasing photos and updates about their plans… getting excited "

Easyjet have been flying the route now for a while.

FlyBe and now Logan Air use smaller aircraft but the smallest used to be Manx2 from Blackpool. They were really small.

Nearly that time to get the bikes back out of the stable and get some ride outs under our belt in readiness for the crazy time we call TT. The whole Island will come alive with motorbikes wizzing round the island 24 hours a day. No better place to be if you are a biker, don't even have to go for the racing as the atmosphere is electric. Be warned though as it is very addictive

I have had time out due to a knee injury and apart from mallory I mostly marshal car events. But in case of extra help needed I will take my gear

But never been to the TT so very excited to go... Mr has been many many times x

Thats a great price for a taster but TT hasn't really got going the day you sail home. The first race is the Saturday after you leave and the weekend of the first race day is when the night life comes alive. We are into single figures now, 9 weeks till we arrive on the rock. We arrive the day you leave for 10 days

Agree to an extent but we have made a great friend from fab who lives there, so much so that is where we now stay when we go over. There is 1 or 2 who meet on the Island but we do mean just 1 or 2, too many won't meet up with people or just don't turn up. Worse than it is over here

"Missed tt’23 so can’t wait to get back over in ‘24. Be great to get some nights out arranged whilst over

Weather this year was perfect, very unusual to get 2 full weeks of it for perfect racing conditions. Hopping 2024 will be much the same.

Did you actually see some racing lol

We heard some. We did go up to the fan zone, getting better with this seeing some racing thing

What are you up to then if you’re not watching the racing?? Or is that a silly question lol

Admittedly there are some over there who are genuine or don't mess people around but they hide well under the rock "

Totally agree, people are very limited who let you in. We have met a few couples who also say the scene a nightmare on the Island, also met one or two single men, one of who we are the bestest of friends with. Most folk in the scene on the rock have messed us about, just so much hard work so much so we spend very limited time these days looking while over. Saying all that it's not much better over here which is why the club scene works for us
