"Awesome! Best of luck. I passed first time at Gold standard 4 years ago, but decided not to retest. Still go for occasional refresher training though to keep the skills in check." How come you didn't retest?

"Is this a good idea for the returning biker? " I had a break of 4 years due to practicalities and hangups over a few spills, one being rather big that's resulted in long term bodily damage. I've always had the itch to get back into the saddle, despite my biking history, so I brought a GSX750F last month. Conscious of skill fade, that's why I'm looking at more training. I had my assessment with ROSPA over the weekend and it was good to have validation that I'm still at certain level with bits to improve on. Hence the added training! In short, well worth looking into after a gap of riding. I'm glad I have!

"Is this a good idea for the returning biker? " It's not for everyone. Some don't get it, either from their lack of ability, and some from their fixed attitude. There's a big difference between 20yrs riding experience, and 1yrs shit experience that you've repeated 20times. I've also seen some riders with an Advanced certificate, and they're a danger to themselves and those around them. It doesn't give you super powers. I did it as I had a young family. I also did some track sessions to up-skill. Not to learn how to race, but to learn what my bike can do, what happens when you brake hard and your bike straightens up, how to avoid target fixation. Lean on the track, not when you've c*cked-up the left hander and you're staring at the front of Eddie Stobart. For me, I enjoy my riding far more having done it.

" Neg is national escort group they are mainly former police riders n civilians that provide escort n road closures to cycle races ect Ceg is central escort group which is police traffic division, who provide escorts for anything, but work on cycle races with neg Cycle races in this country work on live roads, with traffic, Ceg and neg shut the roads down on rolling block to provide safe passage of cycle races ect

"Current police advanced rider (but in another service) here. Rospa is a true reflection of civilian advanced riding capabilities as IAM does not require retest. As long as you pay your membership fees then IAM enables you to keep "advanced" status. Rospa require retest every year for bronze pass, but every 3 year for silver and gold. I am lucky as I get automatic membership of both as I am tested every year through work. Having said that, any training is good as long as you keep practicing. " IAM Masters is retested every 3yrs. 5yrs if you gain a Distinction.

"IAM Masters is retested every 3yrs. 5yrs if you gain a Distinction." Is IAM Masters a higher Qualification than ROSPA Gold if you get a distinction, or is it the usual dick measuring contest between the two groups?
