I haven't been on two wheels for some years now, but previously owned CBR600, CBR900 & VFR750. All great bikes on which I rode many miles all over Europe.

Now I have decided to get back on two wheels, and as I have not been on a bike for about 15 years, have decided to ease myself back into it gently. As such I have ordered a Honda Forza scooter. Now I recall many years ago us real bikers used to look down our noses at scooter riders. Just wondering if it is still the same now ? If so, I guess I'll have to upgrade

Like yourself I had a few years away from biking, decided not to go to big, bought a harley sportster, always wanted one,bit underpowered, but big smile when riding it,dont go down the scooter route after having good bikes in the past ,you will regret it.

Don't get a scooter. People will think you're a delivery boy.

Get a 250 or 125 if you want to ease yourself back in.

Just our thoughts on it.

I've been riding bikes for almost 40 years, I've owned all sorts of bikes big and small, road and track. It saddens me to read that the class system is still alive and well in the biking community. "Looking down" on scooter riders and us "real" bikers indeed!

Why are you not celebrating the fact that they have chosen two wheels instead of four?

Biker numbers are dropping year on year as we are being priced off the road. Remember, some of today's small scooter riders might be tomorrows big bike riders.

Either way OP, I'm sure you've chosen the Forza because it suits what you want from two wheels at this time. Maybe you will want something bigger after a while, maybe you won't, but in the meantime welcome back to two wheels.

There was a guy in Merseyside who rode a Ducati 916, he ignored all bikers, but give scooter and moped riders the nod.

There are the odd few who don't look down on them
