In my quest to find waterproof bike apparel I've just spunked a ridiculous amount of money on some rukka stuff - now waiting for the winter rain to see if it was worth it

"Totally worth it... and the warranty with it"

Well after the Oxford stuff that lasted about a month before the crotch leaked and now might as well just be called windproof.........

I grudged the cost for years.

Then last August I took the plunge.

Rukka jacket, trousers, summer and winter gloves, also Daytona boots.

Over £3000 but well worth it...

At some point you just get fed up with promises not living up to expectations, spend loads once (hopefully) and if it fails you can feel justified in complaining vociferously

We bought Rukka gear back in the early 80's when Barry Sheene endorsed the products, still have them and they are still waterproof. Same then as now very expensive but worth every penny.

Well it rained on the way home and I stayed dry, proof in the pudding will be if it's still working in the spring

Looking at Rukka and Stadler.

I spent £1500 on a Dianese gore tex two piece suit two years ago and have to say it's totally rubbish, it lets water in and keeps it there.

Rukka is great kit

But I think the older version of there products was better,

Also had them well tested sliding down the road at 80mph for a few hundred feet
