I'm torn.... Too many choices.

Due to a mental health issue, my last bike fell to ruin. She's now a project for someone.

So I'm looking for a new steed.

Top contenders:

Triumph tiger.

BMW gsa

Ktm super s

Kawasaki vulcan 900

Yamaha 950 nightstar.

The last two are because I started on and love cruisers.

Any help/opinions would be great. I need a dam ride now that my head is back in the game.

If you like cruisers, have you considered a Triumph Bobber or Thunderbird instead of a Tiger?

Have a Thunderbird Storm myself, did a week in Scotland on it a couple of years ago and it was mint...not so good at The Isle of Man, but in my defence I was up against some ferocious competition that was more cut out for the mountain course...

There was a speedmasters for sale recently. Sorely tempted. It was lovely. Not many cruisers for sale in Ireland unfortunately.

I tried a GSA and didn't like it.

Tried a GS and loved it.

Two years and 22k touring miles later it's the best thing I've ever owned.

I've had Triumph Sprints x2 Blackbirds x2 and FJRs x2.

Will trade it next year for another new one.

That should see me through until I retire.

What's the main difference? Bigger tank on the gsa?

Bigger tank, a lot more weight and if I remember correctly the gearing is different too.

I honestly don't see the point of massive tanks on something that isn't a PD replica.

Usually I need to get off after one hundred miles.

The other thing I found was I sat on top of it, even with the seat set lowest.

I sit in mine, even with the seat set high.

I tried a 1200LC a fair few years ago and I honestly thought it was pants.

The 1250 is something different and given a twisty road and a capable pilot no sports bike, let alone a 1290 Adventure of Multistrada is going to get the legs on you.

Probably the best bike I've ridden for "making progress" in all day long comfort whilst dragging the pegs fully loaded.

I own both 90's and 00's Ducatis and to be honest they're great when you're constantly throwing copious amounts of green queens at them.

The 90's bike is called "The Money Pit" and for good reason.

I thought about a Multi as a second miain use bike but some of the stories of fried clocks, locked gearboxes and shagged mains put me right off.

Never heard that. But a colleague dud say if he had the money, ducati. Otherwise BMW fir geberal touring. Ktm if there's a bit if offroad.
