Any advice when seeking a good one? What to avoid and what to look for. I’m thinking R75/7 or R80. Any advice very welcome. Thanks guys/ ladies.

My Dad has had a few R80/7 and R100RS/RT and the big things are the electrics amd leaky carbs otherwise they're ace.

His current R100RT has 240k on the clock and is as sweet as a nut.

London / Essex borders

My dad had (has) an R80/7 RT which is the only one hike I rember him having as a kid - he commuted 20+ years on it, and only stopped riding it when it got knocked over in a car park, and didn't have time to get it repaired.

One day I'll get the time and cash to get her rebuilt and back on the road..

I had an R100rs on a V plate 1980 clocked 1000's of miles on it in Europe etc only got rid because I didn't think the front single piston brakes was good enough when riding with mates, even thought about putting the later Brembo front end on it

He has looked after it and yes he restored it around seven years ago but the motor just needed a bore hone and rings amd consumables like valve seals etc.

The crank and bores where perfect.

Totally amazing and I doubt my 1250GS will even be alive as a whole bike at that mileage.
