"Best thing to do is go to as many dealers you van and find something you fall in love with. That's what I do. Pictures and reviews are one thing seeing it in the flesh is another. " Yeah, and if it werent for the giant 'C' word that has plagued the world this last year I would have started doing that... my plan is to enjoy this year on my trusty Hornet and then hopefully next year will be normal. My birthday is April so will pick one up for the summer season then.

"Last 2 bikes were a gsxr750 and a R1200GS. Yeah they are both great bikes but I’ve had much more fun green laning on my KTM EXC. granted you won’t take it down the pub but you can take it on many other adventures. Just a thought. " I had considered swapping the Hornet in for a cheapy Supermoto of equal value that I could ride to work and have some legal fun on, and then picking up a second bike for the long distance stuff...

"Hi all, I thought I would take a break from our usual fab based antics to do a fairly vanilla topic and just chat about bikes, specifically... I'm looking for something for my 40th birthday next year and want something special. The question is what? I used to ride years ago when this account was still new, and accross the course of 10 years I had CBR600f and a yamaha R6. The latter used to do some touring around europe on. I took a break for a few years due to worrying about losing my licence before finding my way back onto bikes in the guise of a Honda Hornet for blatting about in London. I have a tour of Wales planned on it this year for a long weekend and hoping to do something each year away on the bike. I could consider something like a BMW GS, but I want something that I open the garage up and every time I love the look of... just like I did with my R6. I want something that has a decent enough rep down the pub as much as being good for covering miles. So, if it was your landmark birthday. What would you look at? I’ve got the versys650 and all geared up too spec so great for touring and when she’s naked without all the luggage she’s still pretty hot looking and handles corners as good as the 1000cc sports bikes the boys are riding " My mate's got a Versys and he loves it, he's had loads of bikes over the years and he said even if he won the lottery and could afford any bike he wanted, he'd still keep the Versys

" I could consider something like a BMW GS, but I want something that I open the garage up and every time I love the look of..." Ducati Multistrada With the new V4S coming out, there will be a lot of low miles twins getting chopped in. Pikes Peak with luggage and Termignoni exhaust. Looks and sounds. A proper sports bike in adventure form. Ticks every box.
