Guy was a legend sadly he has passed away. Him and Valero BIanchi and Gisepi MOrri (probably got the spelling wrong) and TAmburini who also set up BIMOTA. I've got a book all about the development and building of the 916. Its a good read. Foggy's input into the book are quite comical. Another book that a good read is the Honda Motorcycle story. Keep you occupied on lockdown lol

"I feel kinda sorry for guys these days who don't cut their teeth on small capacity machines. Never learning the art of momentumism!" I love the small capacity 2 smokers. Its the simplicity of them. When my son eventually gets a bit bigger I will start introducing him into the mechanics of the bike. At the moment all he cares about is it ready to go lol. Another small capacity bike I always favored was the Kawasaki AR. It came in a 50 or 80 and if you had the 50 you only needed to buy the barrel and piston to up the capacity. I'm sure there were loads more bikes that were the same. First thing I did with the MT was remove the restrictor. Even my dad agreed that being limited to 30mph was dangerous. Used to be great fun trying to overtake JCB's.

My Suzuki GP100 had the 125 barrel, piston and carb on it. 2 strokes were great for learning mechanical stuff on, and cant beat the exhaust smell, Castrol R Mmmmmmmm.

Kawasaki ZXR750 L2 (first road legal sports bike) Sold. Kawasaki KR1S (bought as a project still in boxes). Still got. Yamaha R1 2000 (first litre class sports bike) Sold Ducati 996R 2002 (first bike i ever bought brand new) Still got. CR500 1991 Steel Frame (Used in Evo class MX and Hare Scrambles). Still got. Kawasaki ZZR1100 D3 (Daily rider) Still got. Looking at maybe getting rid of the big Z for a BMW K1200S. The 996R Is my poster bike but ride it for longer than an hour and it cripples me. S also has her own bike a Yamaha YZF750 1994 in the cocktail colour scheme. And my youngest has a CRF50. " You didn't happen to take part at the beach race in Skegness back in November did you? There were 4 CR500 if I remember right.

Damaged my front rim that day when I went into the back of somebody at the first corner Didn't make any difference on the sand. Apart from the straight I had to push the bike over the berms as it was just a cluster f##k and everyman for themselves. I would have done better on a CR125 as the 5 just kept spinning up.
