Quarantine

I have to fly to Sydney urgently for business. We are an essential business. I am in Auckland NZ currently and the airline says I have to go through mandatory quarantine after my arrival in Sydney. I have an apartment in darling harbour and I live by myself. Do I still need to go though mandatory quarantine or can I use my own place to quarantine, especially coming from NZ where there are no more new cases?

You need to follow the quarantine rules set in place within NSW that are being enforced by the police and backed up with the army. You may apply for an exemption once you have arrived. There is no timeline on how long these take.

We fly out or hope to in February but if we have to quarantine I guess the cruise will be cancelled any Aussies got any information about what the longer term plans are

The first international flights later this year will certainly be NZ. I can see the US and UK being the last ones as they are the countries struggling the most. Definite 14 day quarantined to any arrivals from those two countries whenever flights start again.....
