| I’ve been to Sweet Wednesday three times now at the King’s Cross venue, always attending as a couple. My partner has actually been going for a few years, and honestly that probably does make a difference to the experience.
One thing I’ve noticed is that some single men complain that the club is “run by single guys” or that there are “too many single men.” Personally, I think those complaints miss the point. If you’re a single guy attending, then you are part of that group. If you want a different dynamic, bring a partner or come with someone you’ve met. Otherwise, relax and enjoy the space for what it is.
Sweet Wednesday is, in my opinion, a good place to hang out, meet people, talk, and see what else is happening in the scene. The main rule is simply to be polite and respectful.
It’s very much a TV and TS-friendly club, so you’ll see an incredible range of people. There are stunning trans women who clearly understand the aesthetics and put together beautiful looks. And then you’ll also see someone who has thrown on a wig, some questionable makeup, and is bravely attempting six-inch heels with mixed success. But honestly, that’s part of the charm. The space allows expression without judgment.
In terms of the venue itself, don’t expect luxury. There isn’t any. There are mattresses on the floor, dark steamy rooms, and fairly simple social areas with chairs around the walls. It’s a bit dark, a bit dingy, and unapologetically so. But that slightly sleazy, underground feel is part of the vibe and, for some people, part of the turn-on.
If you’re looking for a boudoir-style, beautifully styled play party, this isn’t that. I used to host more bourgeois, polished events myself in the past, so I know the difference. But Sweet Wednesday has its own energy — raw, informal, and very real.
The people are genuinely friendly. Compared with events like Bi Fun Club Monday, where the women are often hostesses (lovely, but it can sometimes feel a bit transactional), Wednesdays don’t have hostesses. It’s just people being themselves and connecting naturally.
Personally, I tend to play mostly with bi men and straight men at these events, and I enjoy the openness of it when another man joins in. My partner loves trans women and is very open about what he likes, which creates a fun and relaxed atmosphere for us as a couple.
For us, Sweet Wednesday isn’t about glamour — it’s about freedom, honesty, and a slightly gritty space where people can express themselves without pretense.
And that dark, slightly dank, mattress-on-the-floor vibe?
Strangely enough… it works.

| Promising much, we found Sweet Wednesday to be a disappointment overall for single guys. We would only recommend it as a social night. Which is what most of the TVs/CDs were there for, not for the sex. Though most were just there gor God knows what purpose, a few of the less attractive ones did play and were being spitroasted but were absolutely mobbed by the very unattractive and smelly guys which put us off. I got my nipples sucked and cock sucked off and came on a CD's face but the niche at the far end was also occupied by another unappealing CD who was stinking to kingdom come of some kind of infection. One of the hired sexy girls was even overheard to say she felt a bad aura in that room, no doubt due to the smelly CD. It's a bit pricey for £20 (plus the travel fair and drinks) and although the social element would be good were it not for the fact that the TVs and CDs only talked to guys they knew and everyone else might as well have been invisible. CDs and TVs would enjoy Sweet Wednesday, not so much guys or 'trousers' as referred to. We will likely not be returning although the bar upstairs was half full which is good. |
